Summer brings warm days, long nights, outdoor adventures and lots and lots of live music. We can't think of anything better than soaking up the sun while listening to some of our favorite bands. Summer has become synonymous with music festivals, and it is easy to see why both the season and activity bring so much joy to thousands of people all over the world. It is easy to get overheated when you spend consecutive days in the sun, which is why we put a list together of ways to stay cool at a music festival. Wear light colors Yes, black is chic but it is not made to beat the heat, so save your darks for indoor activities and say "yes" to lights and brights! When the sun is beating down on you all day long, you'll be happy you wore pastel, white and muted colors. Carry a portable fan It is easy to make friends at a music festival, but if you're carrying a portable fan will make you the most desirable person on the grounds. Dry air can make anyone feel overheated so a little circulation will go a long way. Stay hydrated Music festivals can be so much fun that you forget to take care of yourself. If you are drinking water just because you are thirsty you are most likely already on the verge of dehydration! Carry a water bottle and set a goal for yourself to fill it up 5-8 times throughout the day. Don't over pack your fest bag No matter what bag you choose to bring into the festival, be sure it is lightweight, durable and easy-to-clean. Fanny packs, backpacks, and crossbody bags are great solutions for carrying your must-haves into a festival, but keep it basic! Only carry the essentials and don't get caught up in carrying "what if" items that will weigh your bag down. Wear a hat and sunglasses Shades are a must-have when it comes to blocking the sun and keeping cool throughout the day. With the perfect sunnies and a hat you'll avoid burning your face while keeping cool!
