Ariana Pierce, one of our fave blogger-entrepreneurs, took the time to chat with us about empowerment and inspiration in honor of International Women's Day. Check out our interview below and share what International Women's Day means to you in our comments section below.
Q. What does International Women’s Day mean to you? A. International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate and honor women who work hard, serve their families, and serve their country in an honorable way. This year, I’ll be taking the time to thank a few special ladies in my life who have been influential in helping me be successful. I’ve learned over the year that appreciating and being grateful for others helps me to stay grounded and humble. Q. When you close your eyes and imagine an empowered woman, what do you see? A. When I imagine an empowered woman, I see someone who is strong, has leadership qualities and is a giver. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of being around influential women, and one thing that they all have in common is that they are very generous; Generous with their money, time and talents, which causes them to have true and fulfilling success. Q. Tell us a little bit about your own personal path of empowerment? What was significant? A. Growing up, I felt a calling to help women around the world, and I knew that could be possible through entrepreneurship. Once my business grew and became successful, I used my platform to help others, specifically young women entrepreneurs, live their dreams now and not later. Now, I’m able to host workshops, conferences and online webinars to help motivate and empower women around the world. What’s so significant about this, is that I get to hear stories of others who have started a business, turned around their life, or took their brand to the next level because of something they have heard me say, which I am truly thankful for this opportunity. Q. What advice or suggestions can you give to women walking the path of empowerment? A. Some advice I would give to women walking the path of empowerment would be to believe that you can achieve all your dreams and goals. Success starts in your mind. If you can’t see yourself achieving a lot, then it can never happen. You are your biggest cheerleader, so start with saying something positive about you and your day. Write an affirmation about your future and get training or material on your desired field or business. This will help you stay motivated to succeed! Q. How do you support women to live empowered lives? A. I support women to live empowered lives by providing workshops, courses and hosting live events where they can learn content to help them start and grow in business. For example, my mom and I are hosting the Ultimate Success Tour this year, which is a one day seminar providing marketing and business tools, techniques and strategies to women around the country to help them better their lives and brands. It’s our way to give back to the community the good things we have learned as entrepreneurs. Q. What inspires you? A. Having a purpose partner inspires me. My mom, Dr. Stacia Pierce, happens to be that for me in my business and personal life. She pushes me to think bigger and do better. Everyone should have someone like this in their corner who isn’t just a yes man, but a pusher. When you are striving to be a woman who empowers others, there will be moments when you want to give up. Those are the times when you need someone to remind you of your mission and purpose, and help you get back on your feet. Q. How do you inspire others? A. I inspire others by living my life as an example. This doesn’t mean I try to be perfect, but what it does mean is that I want others to see the possibilities of being a successful young adult. Through my books and products, others are able to get inspiration and insight on how to succeed. Q. What is your favorite quote about empowerment? A. One of my favorite quotes about empowerment is, “The distance between your dreams and reality is called action.” It’s so true! A few action steps a day can take you a long way. Q. Who in your life has helped you to feel empowered? A. One person who has helped me feel empowered is my late grandfather. He would always tell me to read, read, read. When I was younger, I didn’t get this concept much, but as I matured, I learned the importance of educating myself through books and information. Success can only come to those who invest in themselves, so I make it a priority to constantly fill my mind with new and empowering information.
