#KiplingCanvas is an arts initiative created to celebrate inclusivity, equality, the spirit of coming together, and art! In partnership with Scrap Yard NYC, the oldest purveyor of graffiti paint in the US, we chose 3 artists to design the next Art Tote Bag.

The Theme:
Equality and Inclusion

Our theme this year was equality and
inclusion, which aligns with Kipling’s
purpose where everyone is welcome and
free to express their true self. Inclusivity
and equality promote and sustain a
sense of belonging, and the resulting Art
Totes reflect just that.

Meet The Artists

Lola @lovenotesnyc

LOVENOTES is a New York City based muralist and visual artist, whose alias formed at a young age through her submergence in Bronx Graffiti culture. Heavily influenced by anime, metaphysics, youth, occultism, urban culture, nature, and fairytales; Lovenotes strives to create artwork that are charged with her emotional and spiritual vision of the world usually involving feminine figures.

Malcolm Finch @son.of.a.finch

Malcolm Salah Finch is a self-taught Multi-Media Artist from Harlem, New York. His childhood plays a big role in his inspiration. With one memory, he can compose a concept in his head through imagery and color, and render it on any medium. On this specific bag, Malcolm took influence from Jean Michael Basquiat.

Adam Fujita @adamfu

Adam Fujita is a Product Designer and artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. He holds an MFA in Product Design from the Products of Design department at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. Adam’s recent neon style work has been an exploration of protest and resistance through the use of the medium of street art and the internet.

Scrap Yard NYC

Scrap Yard is NYC’s original graffiti shop frequented by
established and emerging artists, alike. Established in the
early 1990’s, it gave the street art movement a place to call
home. People from all walks of life stood in front of the shop
exchanging works of art and life stories. They showed the
world that street art was indeed part of our history and that
the world should be in on it. Today Scrap Yard still stands
strong and believes that art is not only a freedom of
expression, but a MOVEMENT.
